The special symbol check is intended as a helper check to verify whether symbols used in the original metadata are still preserved as corresponding symbols in the Romanised metadata.
For example, it checks whether ＆ is converted to &, or whether × is converted to x.
However, the check does not attempt to validate the romanisation of Japanese text itself.
To reduce false positives, the current implementation does not verify the relative positions of symbols.
As a result, if a corresponding symbol exists somewhere in the Romanised metadata, differences in symbol placement may not be detected.
Additionally, the check does not validate spaces surrounding symbols.
This is because formats such as Musashi Project & Toshiro Masuda, where spaces around symbols are natural, are commonly used.
